PODS Pros and Cons
Is it right for you?
PROS-
Generally less expensive than a full-service move.
Flexible change and cancelation policy with full refunds available if your plans change.
Accommodates a long moving window with 30-day minimum rentals
Belongings can be moved or stored
Multiple container sizes available.
Someone else transports the containers — you just have to load and unload them.
Available in almost any state and several countries.
CONS-
Some information isn’t available online. We were required to call for a quote for a long-distance move.
Many bookings must be made by phone; there’s no option to book online.
Availability can be limited — PODS are often sold out up to six months in advance, and in some states, they aren’t available at all.

To avoid being overwhelmed when organizing, start with one cabinet, one drawer, one shelf, etc.

Let’s not forget our local libraries for donations of books, magazines and audio series. If they are duplicates or they don’t have the space on their shelves, the donations go toward their seasonal book sales to raise money for our community services.

Tip of the day-
When packing up household items, identify the keys, garage remotes and small electronics that convey with the house and clearly and brightly identify them to ward off movers from sweeping them in with the rest of your belongings.
