It’s after 1 at night and I’m just wrapping up sifting through the MLS for potential properties & setting a last minute showing tour for a client for tomorrow…. Why?

Because, the original ones that I sent 2 weeks ago are no longer available….this particular client was given an address by a Facebook “friend” who told her she could find her own place without a REALTOR® (which is true, not smart but true) and having one was pointless. (😂😕)

This client deviated from allowing me to do my job. She had reached out to the property owner to see the home without my knowledge. He told her he wasn’t available until after the 15th but sent her older pictures of the inside of the home. She THEN mentioned it to me and gave me the address and owner’s contact after the fact. I told her I would see if I could get a showing for it because the property is not on the MLS.

I popped by the address cause I was in the area, spoke with the owner over the phone told him who I was, that I was a REALTOR® and had a client that was interested. He must’ve assumed the crew he had inside that property was done making “repairs and sprucing up the home”…. They were still there wrapping up but I was able to enter the home.

Go inside, they are painting over MOLD spots.😩

SMFH.

I left and called my client told her what I saw and now she’s back to the drawing board and pressed for time. Her lease is up the 1st week in October and if she’s not accepted by a new place and moved in it will now cost her a little over $3K on top of what she will spend for the new place she still needs.

This market whether you’re buying, selling, investing, or renting is NOT one you want to gamble with. Whether it’s me, Bo, or another trusted licensed real estate agent, y’all have got to allow the full professional assistance you sought out in the first place. Allow us to use the resources we have to not only find what you want but also ensure you & your family aren’t being taken advantage of.

Ya family, friends and hearsay can’t access/see what WE can majority of the time! They can’t advocate on your behalf in these processes.
There’s so much bu****it we come across in this industry, I promise ya’ll don’t know the half that ya’ll THINK ya’ll do.

As a REALTOR®, consider me not being rude when I answer my calls and text during our appointment but instead understand my business partner/fiancé is checking in on me as a precaution because of things like THIS.

As a REALTOR®, who requires proof that you’re a qualified buyer, THIS is one of the major reasons why.

As a REALTOR®, I will ALWAYS refuse to show you a house, apartment, office space, land, or anything in between because you wouldn’t provide my brokerage and I the necessary information that insures my safety. If you get upset or turned off by it, that’s okay. I’m not wasting my time nor will I gamble my safety and life because you don’t know that THIS type of stuff is happening out here.

Every day those of us who work in this real estate industry, we speak with and meet with strangers. We need to protect ourselves as best we can from something horrible like THIS happening.
