What an interesting story is to follow! What do you think about households? Should they be allowed?

Many of you saw our report earlier this month on Dan Oram, the owner of the houseboat that floated for years off Route 1 near Cooks Corner. The Department of Marine Resources told him to remove the hut from the Androscoggin River because of a new law banning non-water-dependent floating structures from inland waterways. Oram agreed to remove the houseboat to comply with the law. He is now advocating for changes that would allow the houseboat to return. He started an online petition that has garnered roughly 1,500 signatures. If this issue interests you and you’d like keep tabs on Dan's advocacy, you can find updates in the link below.

Appraisal day for this listing! Why is appraisal day so important but often overlooked?
