🌱 Spring Lawn Care: Start Your Season Strong!

The snow has melted, and it’s time to wake up your lawn! At Eastland Partners, we know that a little effort in the spring leads to a lush, healthy yard all summer long.

Follow this quick guide to get your Massachusetts lawn back in peak shape:

🧹 1. The Spring Clean-Up
Clear away fallen branches, matted leaves, and debris. This prevents "snow mold" and allows your grass to breathe and soak up the sunlight.

🧪 2. Soil & Fertilizer
• Test Your Soil: Spring is the perfect time to check your pH levels.
• Feed Early: Once the soil temperature hits about 55°F, apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to jumpstart growth.
• Skip the W**d Killer: If you’re planning to overseed thin spots, avoid "w**d and feed" products, as they can prevent new grass seeds from germinating.

💧 3. Smart Watering
Early spring usually provides enough rain, but keep an eye on the forecast. You want to aim for deep, infrequent watering to encourage those roots to reach down deep before the summer heat hits.

✂️ 4. The First Mow
Wait until the grass is at least 3 inches tall before the first cut. Set your mower to a high setting—keeping the grass a bit longer helps shade the soil and prevents w**ds from taking root.

🏠 5. Check Your Shrubs
Check your foundation plantings for any winter damage. Give them a fresh layer of mulch to retain moisture and a good deep soak if we have a dry spell.
