For many in our Yakima Valley KW office, this week was a little numb as we walked in a bit of shock at the sudden loss of our beloved Jolie Grant!

Jolie was a bright light and a great source of support, help, encouragement, and joy around not only our office but our Valley! She was loved by so many and her loss will impact us for longer than she knew— but we will strive to keep her memory alive in how we carry her with us and how we love and help each other!

Jolie loved her family, her Wi******er, her friends and clients, she loved her work and her play… she was always kind and always quick to smile and laugh —and man, don’t we just really need people like that in our lives?

She loved everything f•r•i•e•n•d•s and coffee mugs and Christmas and Elf…

She helped me many times in the office and was there with a hug or a slowed down “—How are you really?” question!

I’ll miss seeing and hearing her around the office… She was such a great friend to so many in our industry.

Please keep her friends and family in your thoughts and prayers over the next few weeks especially!

Today we pause to remember September 11, 2001.

We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders and ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

And we remember the way our country came together in the days that followed.

Twenty-five years later, may we continue to honor their memory with gratitude, kindness, and care for one another. 🇺🇸

Is fall too late to make a move? 🏡

Not necessarily.

There's a lot of attention on the spring and summer real estate markets, so it's easy to assume that once September arrives, you've somehow missed your window.

But people don't only move because it's the “right season.”

They move because life changes.

A new job.
A growing family.
A desire for less maintenance.
A move closer to family.
Retirement.
Or simply realizing that home doesn't fit quite the way it used to.

There can be advantages and challenges to moving in every season — and the right timing has much more to do with your circumstances than the month on the calendar.

So if moving has been quietly sitting in the back of your mind, you haven't missed anything.

You can start with information, ask questions, and figure out what makes sense from there.

No pressure. No artificial timeline. 💜

A little behind-the-scenes from my corner of real estate today. 💜

One of the funny things about my job is that no two days look exactly the same.

On any given day, I might be working on listing marketing, scheduling social media, communicating with clients, keeping track of transaction details, helping prepare for an open house, researching a local resource... or jumping in wherever our team needs me.

And somewhere in there, there's usually coffee. (Alright. Fine. Always... there is ALWAYS coffee!)☕😉

Being a licensed Realtor® and assistant with the Joanne Melton Real Estate Team gives me an interesting view of real estate — I get to see just how many little details happen behind the scenes to help take care of our clients well.

It's not always the glamorous part of real estate...

but I genuinely love being part of it.

Long weekend ahead! ☀️

I'm curious... what kind of Labor Day weekend person are you?

🏡 Stay home — slow mornings, projects around the house, BBQ and nowhere you have to be.

🚗 Go somewhere — road trip, camping, lake day or squeezing in one more summer adventure.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Fill the calendar — family gatherings, kids' activities, lunch dates, errands and ALL the things.

Or...

🙋‍♀️ A little bit of everything!

One of the little things I love about Yakima Valley...

September means harvest season. 🍎

You can see it happening all around us — orchards full of fruit, tractors and trucks on the roads, bins stacked and ready, and long days for the people who work so hard to bring in the harvest.

When you live here, it's easy to drive past it all without really thinking about how unique it is.

But every once in a while, I catch myself looking around and thinking...

We really do live in a pretty incredible place.

Here's to harvest season — and especially to the farmers, growers, crews, truck drivers, warehouse workers, and families behind it. 💜

Hello, September. 🍂

There's something about September that feels like a fresh start.

The mornings get a little cooler. Schedules settle back into place. Harvest season is all around us here in the Yakima Valley, and home starts feeling especially good again after a busy summer.

I'm not quite ready to rush into pumpkins and sweaters just yet. 😉 There are still warm afternoons, beautiful evenings, and plenty of summer left to savor.

But I do love that little hint of change in the air.

So here's to September — to settling back in, enjoying where we live, and making home a place we're always glad to come back to. 💜

The older I get, the more I realize...

Some of the very best days don't have anything extraordinary planned.

They're the days that end with tired feet...

A full heart...

Good conversation...

And the feeling that home is exactly where you wanted to be.

It's easy to think the biggest memories come from vacations or major milestones.

But I've found that some of life's sweetest moments happen on completely ordinary days.

One of the little things I love about Yakima Valley...
..is that almost every drive this time of year includes the temptation to pull over at a fruit stand.

You tell yourself you're "just going to look."

Then somehow you leave with peaches...

A few ears of corn...

Maybe some tomatoes...

And if you're lucky, a homemade pie or jar of local honey finds its way into the car too. 😊

It's one of those simple traditions that makes late summer here feel special.
