It's Real Estate Market Monday and so here we go. While I understand rates can be scary, every market comes with good and bad points.
--The Good-- A tad higher interest rate means less competition in the market. Interest rates dictate buying power. So, with rates treading up, less people are eligible to compete. While it's still no fun as a buyer, with less competition you have more options and can refinance down later.
-- Bad-- Low inventory. Due to higher interest rates, people don't want to sell out of the low interest rate period we had in the past few years. So, it could take you awhile to find that perfect that.
If you are trying to decide if now is a good time to make a move, let's talk through your options with a free consultation!

Embracing the Shade: Beautiful Summer Plants That Thrive without Sunlight

Introduction:
As the scorching heat of summer arrives, finding suitable plants that can withstand shade becomes a necessity for many gardeners. While sunlight is essential for most plants, there are numerous varieties that can flourish and bring vibrant life to shaded areas. In this blog, we will explore a diverse range of plants that not only tolerate shade but also showcase their unique beauty during the summer months. So, let's dive into the world of shade-loving plants and discover the perfect additions for your shaded garden oasis.

Hostas (Hosta spp.):
Hostas are renowned for their elegant foliage and exceptional ability to thrive in shaded environments. These plants offer a wide variety of leaf colors, sizes, and textures, making them an excellent choice for adding visual interest to your garden. With their lush, dense foliage, hostas create a lush and inviting atmosphere.

Impatiens (Impatiens walleriana):
Impatiens, commonly known as Busy Lizzies, are annuals that bloom profusely throughout the summer months. These versatile plants are available in a vast array of colors and are prized for their ability to brighten up shady spots. Their vibrant flowers and lush green foliage make them a popular choice for container gardens and flower beds alike.

Bleeding Heart (Dicentra spectabilis):
Bleeding Heart is a timeless classic that adds a touch of romance to any shaded garden. Known for its heart-shaped pink or white flowers that dangle gracefully from arching stems, this perennial beauty blooms in late spring and early summer. Its delicate foliage adds an additional layer of charm, making it a perfect choice for shaded borders or woodland gardens.

Ferns (Various genera):
Ferns are true shade-loving champions that bring an enchanting touch of lush greenery to any garden. With their intricate fronds and unique textures, ferns add a sense of tranquility and elegance to shaded spaces. From the delicate Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum spp.) to the striking Japanese Painted Fern (Athyrium niponicum), there is a fern variety suitable for every shade garden.

Coral Bells (Heuchera spp.):
Coral Bells are prized for their stunning foliage, which comes in a wide range of colors, including shades of green, purple, bronze, and silver. These shade-tolerant perennials produce delicate spikes of bell-shaped flowers that attract pollinators. Whether planted as a ground cover or used as accent plants in containers, Coral Bells add a touch of drama and beauty to any shady garden spot.

Coleus (Plectranthus scutellarioides):
Coleus plants are renowned for their vibrant and eye-catching foliage, which comes in a dazzling array of colors and patterns. These annuals thrive in partial shade and can tolerate full shade with proper care. From deep burgundy to lime green, their leaves create an impressive display of color and texture, making them an excellent choice for adding visual interest to shady areas.

By incorporating these shade-loving plants into your summer garden, you can create a lush and vibrant oasis even in the darkest corners. These plants prove that shade doesn't have to limit your options; instead, it opens up a world of unique and captivating botanical possibilities. So, get creative, experiment with different combinations, and let your shaded garden come alive with the beauty of these summer-loving plants.
