Just bought a home in Guam?
Here’s how to set up your power!
Getting electricity connected is a crucial step in settling into your new home. Follow these simple steps to get started with **Guam Power Authority (GPA):
1️⃣ Gather Your Documents – Homeowners need proof of ownership (like a deed) and a valid ID. Tenants will need a signed lease agreement, a utility authorization letter from the landlord, and an ID.
2️⃣ Pay the Fees – There’s a $25 connection fee, and tenants may need to pay a deposit based on the size of the home and air conditioning units (ranging from $125 to $500+).
3️⃣ Submit Your Application – You can apply in person at GPA’s offices in Mangilao, Hagåtña, or Upper Tumon. Prefer online? You can email your application to [email protected] (for residential accounts) or [email protected] (for business accounts).
4️⃣ Request Same-Day Service – If you apply before 2:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday, GPA offers same-day service for transfers.
5️⃣ Set Up Payments – Once connected, you can pay your bill online or in person at GPA offices.
Pro Tip: If utilities are already connected, there won’t be a disruption in service. But if they’re off, plan ahead to avoid delays!
