Five years ago, I made the decision to walk away from my corporate HR career and pursue real estate.
I remember so many people telling me how difficult this career was going to be, and they weren’t wrong. Real estate is hard. The long hours, the uncertainty, the emotional highs and lows, the constant pressure to keep moving forward. Statistics show that nearly 80% of realtors don’t make it past their first year.
As of June 1st, I’m incredibly grateful to be celebrating five years in a career that has changed my life in more ways than I could have imagined.
What started as a career change became so much more. I’ve had the privilege of helping families buy their first homes, sell homes filled with memories, and take exciting new steps in their lives. Being trusted during such important moments is something I will never take for granted.
This career has also carried me through some of my own challenging seasons in life. It has taught me resilience, confidence, patience, and perseverance. It has given me purpose on days when I needed it most.
Real estate has allowed me to build a life I truly love here in this beautiful city. It has given me the flexibility to spend time with my family back home in Saskatchewan whenever I want, opportunities I once only hoped for, and countless friendships with incredible clients, colleagues, and friends who have become such an important part of my life.
The road hasn’t always been easy, but it has always been worth it.
To every client who trusted me, every friend who referred me, every colleague who supported me, and every person who believed in me along the way - thank you. Your support has meant more than you know.
Here’s to five years, and to many more to come in this wonderful industry. 🥂🏡
