OLUKARE MEDIA TEAM PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO IKARE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN 'BABANEL'

On Monday, October 13th, 2025 our team, proudly led by the Director of Media and Public Affairs to the Kabiyesi Olukare of Ikare Kingdom, honoured the remarkable Leadership of Alh Mohammed Mutiu Olawale fondly known as Baba Nel) the Executive Chairman of Akoko North East Local Government Area. At exactly noon, we visited his office to acknowledge his exceptional dedication towards transforming the community.

In recognition of Baba Nel’s relentless efforts, ranging from the impressive facelift of local infrastructure, proactive youth engagement in grassroots politics, continuous road maintenance and repairs, to countless social services that uplift the lives of residents, we presented him with a uniquely customized Olukare Media Supporters' polo as a token of our support and appreciation.

The warmth and spirit of collaboration were evident as our media team joined the Chairman alongside other respected dignitaries to witness the gala inuguration of newly appointed aides to the Local Government. This event marks a significant step forward in strengthening governance and service delivery in Akoko North East.

The visit aimed to foster stronger community relationships and recognize the administration's leadership and developmental strides. Prince S.A MOMOH commended the Chairman for his dedication to grassroots development, youth empowerment, and infrastructural progress. ROYAL ADVISORY FROM THE PALACE OF OLUKARE OF IKARE KINGDOM

Dear people of Ikare Akoko and friends,

We issue this important advisory to clarify the proper use and promotion of the Owa-Ale title. As highlighted in our personal message to His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Adedoyin, the Owa-Ale of Iyometa Ikare, and on behalf of our royal father, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Alhaji) Akadri Saliu Momoh IV, the Olukare of Ikare Kingdom, we respectfully raise strong concerns about the misrepresentation of this esteemed title.

The correct title is Owa-Ale of Iyometa Ikare — not “Owa-Ale of Ikare.” Iyometa is one of the five quarters within the larger Ikare Kingdom, which includes Ikado, Ilepa/Oyinmo, Edo, Oorun, and Iyometa. The entire Ikare Kingdom falls under the traditional authority of the Olukare of Ikare.

Currently, the title Owa-Ale is being incorrectly paraded as “Owa-Ale of Ikare,” misrepresenting the rightful scope of the title and undermining the authority and tradition of the Olukare. This misrepresentation threatens the peace and unity we cherish in our kingdom.

We call on all stakeholders (especially the media, community leaders, and the general public) to recognize and respect this vital distinction. Accurate use of titles promotes order, respect, and the dignity of our royal institutions.

We also acknowledge the government’s position regarding the kingship matters and affirm that continued peace and progress in Ikare depend on mutual respect, decorum, and adherence to both tradition and legal frameworks.

Having appealed to His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Adedoyin, to lead in guiding all parties on the proper usage and publicity of these titles, we urge timely corrections wherever necessary.

May this advisory encourage wider understanding, respect, and unity in our beloved Ikare Kingdom.

OLUKARE OF IKARE AKOKO RECEIVES THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF AKOKO NORTH EAST COUNCIL

Earlier Today, Monday, 1st of September 2025, the Executive Chairman of Akoko North East Local Government in person of Hon. Alh. Muhammed Olawale mutiu (aka Baba Nel) and his immediate family, some party elites and his team paid a courtesy to the Revered royal father, Ọba (Alhaji) Akadiri Saliu Adekadejo Momoh IV. (JP, CON, CFR), the Olúkàré and Paramount Ruler of Ìkàré Àkókó in his Palace.

On his arrival at Ìkàré palace, and prior to the appreciation party he held in the town today, not a few prominent political and societial figures from the local government area identified with Honourable Olawale as he made a stopover at the Ìkàré palace to receive royal blessing from the the Kábíyèsí.

Babanel who demonstrate the signs of Omoluabi later briefed the revered monarch of Ikare Kingdom on the latest developments going on in our local government, and in return, he was blessed with a royal prayer.

Oba Momoh IV. did not only pray for a better Akoko North East Local Government Area under Baba Nee, he also prayed Ikare Akoko Sons and Daughters to support the new LG Caretaker boss for a successful and productive time in office.
