In the early years of his life, Derek grew up in Brazil where his family-owned and operated a 1,200± hectare passion fruit, ginger root and black pepper farm. He fondly remembers exploring the rainforest, swimming in the Amazon tributaries, and eating mangos and guavas aplenty. Eventually his family relocated to Cuero, Texas where they bought a 50-acre property that they own to this day. Derek was

a swimmer from a young age, and at only 10 years old he completed the 5 Mile Buck Island Open Ocean Swim in St. Croix, Virgin Islands; he still holds the record for the youngest to ever complete this swim. An avid golfer, Derek has been heavily involved in the golf industry since he started playing during his days at St. Mary’s University. He has utilized his knowledge and experience to become one of the best golf trainers in the San Antonio area and has created a patent-pending golf training aid featured on the Golf Channel in February of 2020 at the PGA Show. A genuine interest and love for anything nature led Derek to pursue a career in real estate with a goal of working specifically in the farm and ranch market. His background has led him to have a diverse network of individuals from all walks of life. He enjoys working with people who have the same level of passion for the outdoors as he does and will go the extra mile to provide conscientious care to his clients.
