Supporting local businesses is vital for our community's growth and vibrancy. Our downtown is the heart of Menomonie, and by shopping locally, you're not just making a purchase; you're investing in the place we all call home. Let's rally together to keep our small retail thriving and our Main Street bustling with life!
1897. The year my building was built. 311 Main Street E in Menomonie Wisconsin has been in existence for 127 years. For 127 years it has been many things for many different store owners. But there is one thing every one of us has in common - big dreams.
Big dreams that is fueled with hope. Lots of hope actually and a whole bunch of belief.
Without question - being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart. It takes guts, grit and so much heart.
It’s ideas. It’s items. It’s relationships. It’s advertising&marketing. It’s learning. It’s falling and getting back up when you’ve hit your face on the concrete again. It’s dreaming. It’s changing. It’s trying. It’s pure joy. It’s challenging. It’s possibility. It’s what life is about - the adventure of mapping out a journey into just about any direction and praying to god you land it.
We can’t do it alone. We can’t.
It takes you, the consumer, to come and consume what we have worked hard for you to come and get.
Menomonie Wisconsin will thrive or diminish based on where we choose to spend our money. Yes, there are big stores here, corporate ones, with lots of great things. It’s important that they succeed too. We, though, are not corporate owned, we are family owned. We don’t have a conglomerate helping with advertising and a brand name to blast out the newest deals. But We have guts, grit and so much heart.
I’m watching another neighbor store of mine close her doors after two years. Patina Vintage opened a month after I purchased LaDeeDah. Why is she having to close her doors and not me? Why did Mary have to close Collective Souls? Why Donut Sams? My point is that small business survives when you shop local, when you shop small. If any of us last it’s because of you not us. Sure, I can be clever, but that doesn’t pay rent. You know we all do our best but it’s a partnership. A dance, if you will. Please join us on the dance floor.
I am asking you to engage in your home town. Shop where you live. Invest in us. I promise you we are worth it.
♥️Em, just a small town girl
