AIDA Health Solution is proud to continue the official IPC (Infection Prevention and Control) Training for healthcare workers at Martini Hospital, with a special focus on the Maternal and Child Health Department.

The training aims to strengthen healthcare workers’ knowledge and practical skills in infection prevention, patient safety, and the proper hygiene and handling of medical equipment to ensure safer and higher-quality healthcare services for the Somali community.

This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Human Services, Federal Government of Somalia and under the supervision of the Hospital Labour and Staff Office, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare systems and improve service delivery across Somalia.

⚠️ HANTAVIRUS AWARENESS | AIDA Health Solution ⚠️

Hantavirus is a serious viral infection spread mainly through contact with infected rodents, their urine, droppings, or saliva. While rare, it can lead to severe respiratory illness and life-threatening complications if prevention measures are not followed.

At AIDA Health Solution, we believe that prevention starts with awareness, environmental hygiene, and strong Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) practices.

Key Symptoms:

🔹 Fever & chills
🔹 Headache & body pain
🔹 Nausea, vomiting & abdominal pain
🔹 Cough & shortness of breath

Prevention Starts with Action:

✅ Maintain clean and safe environments
✅ Control rodents in homes and healthcare facilities
✅ Avoid dry sweeping contaminated areas
✅ Use disinfectants and protective gloves during cleaning
✅ Promote environmental cleaning and hygiene education

Strong IPC systems and environmental cleaning are essential to reducing the spread of infectious diseases and protecting communities.

🛡️ Action saves lives when prevention is implemented.

Today marked more than a celebration of World Hand Hygiene Day 2026 it marked a commitment to action.

AIDA Health Solution, in collaboration with the Federal Republic of Somalia Ministry of Health & Human Services, proudly hosted a successful national event under the global theme:

“Action Saves Lives”

The event brought together healthcare leaders, hospitals, IPC professionals, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen dialogue around Infection Prevention & Control (IPC), patient safety, and healthcare quality improvement in Somalia.

At AIDA Health Solution, we believe:
✔ Awareness alone is not enough
✔ Policies alone are not enough
✔ Real change happens when action is implemented

Through practical implementation, monitoring systems, workforce capacity building, environmental hygiene improvement, and measurable accountability, we can strengthen healthcare systems and protect lives.

We are deeply encouraged by the strong engagement, interest, and collaboration shown during the event. This is only the beginning of a larger movement toward sustainable IPC systems and safer healthcare facilities across Somalia.

A sincere thank you to:

* The Ministry of Health & Human Services
* Healthcare professionals
* Hospitals and institutions
* Development and health partners
* Every participant who contributed to this important day

Together, we move:
From awareness → to implementation
From policy → to practice
From discussion → to measurable impact

We all know action saves lives👇
action specifically is tangible & universal 🌏
- we can track progress in safer care
- use it as one quality indicator
- we can integrate it into all aspects of quality, safe care

In this 18th year of World Health Organization World Hand Hygiene Day, all those providing and supporting safe, quality health care can refresh their action on hand hygiene and & come together to again raise the profile on 5 May.

A large proportion of avoidable infections acquired during health care delivery could still be prevented with hand hygiene and IPC action at the right times.

IPC provides a high return on investment for health systems and countries

The 2026 campaign day coincides with the need for countries to rapidly consider implementation of the global action plan and monitoring framework on IPC – supported by a practical guide to implementation – and the need to continue to improve IPC as demonstrated in the latest WHO IPC global report.

⁉️ Did you know - one of the WHO global action plan and monitoring framework indicators on IPC is hand hygiene compliance monitoring and feedback, to be established as a key national indicator, at the very least in all reference hospitals by 2026?

The campaign is just one way we are aiming to address all of these global issues.

The dedicated campaign web pages will be updated soon and will include key messages and links to all WHO resources to support action including a unique poster maker for all to personalise.

👥 Importantly, everyone can play a role in dissemination and reach - that’s what a global campaign is - a community effort.

What can you do now?
- share the message
- join the campaign
- act - because action saves lives.

An outstanding milestone for Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) advancement in Somalia 🇸🇴

AIDA Health Solution warmly welcomes this strategic initiative by the Ministry of Health to strengthen coordination, implementation, and monitoring of national IPC guidelines.

Strong IPC systems are the backbone of resilient healthcare. They reduce hospital-acquired infections, protect healthcare workers, combat antimicrobial resistance, and improve overall patient outcomes.

We commend the leadership and vision demonstrated in prioritizing infection prevention as a national health security agenda.

AIDA Health Solution remains committed to supporting healthcare institutions through training, system strengthening, quality improvement, and sustainable infection control strategies.

Together, we build safer hospitals.

Grateful to have attended BIA Dilemmas Day on Critical Care Infections at the Manchester Conference Centre.

As an Infection Prevention & Control professional, staying engaged with critical care infection dilemmas is not optional — it’s essential. These discussions go beyond theory; they challenge how we prevent, detect, and respond to complex infections in the most vulnerable patients.

Continuous learning, evidence-based dialogue, and shared expertise are key to improving patient safety, reducing healthcare-associated infections, and strengthening our clinical decision-making — especially in high-risk critical care settings.

Every room like this, every conversation like this, ultimately translates into safer care at the bedside.
