High interest rates don’t always have to be the reason you put homeownership on hold. 🏡
One option buyers may not know about is a 2-1 seller-paid buydown.
With this type of program, the seller can contribute funds to temporarily lower the buyer’s interest rate for the first two years of the loan. That means a lower payment in year one, another step up in year two, and then the loan returns to its regular note rate in year three.
The example Shawna at Evergreen Home Loans put together shows just how much of a difference that can make during those first couple of years. Of course, every buyer, loan, and situation is different, but this is exactly why its worth knowing what options are available before assuming a home is out of reach.
