When guests leave a note like this in our guest book… it means everything. 🥹

Barbara and Carol traveled from New York and said their favorite memory from their stay was:

“Bears!! Big bears, little bears, mama bears, baby bears, & big fat daddy bears.”

But this part really got us:

“We have traveled the world to photograph wild animals from Africa to Asia to Central America & of course North America. We’ve stayed in the most beautiful and exotic resorts, but Heiden on Echo holds a special place in our hearts.”

Whew. Cue the happy tears.

We know the Smokies are special, but seeing Heiden on Echo become part of someone’s lifelong travel memories? That’s the good stuff.

Apparently, it wasn’t just a bachelorette party at Heiden on Echo—these two bachelor bears decided to put on a show too! Don’t worry, the guests were safe inside, highly entertained, and got to witness a little bit of Smoky Mountain reality TV! Nature really went all out for the occasion!

Repeat guests are the biggest compliment, and this one made our whole day. 🌲

“This was our second stay at Heiden on Echo. It is consistently a well-appointed, clean, and beautiful place to stay in the Smokies! There are plenty of games for kids and adults alike, and our granddaughters enjoyed themselves thoroughly! We loved sipping our coffee in the mornings around the fire table, and relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of walking and hiking. The owners are helpful and friendly in their communication. We would highly recommend this place!”

“Absolutely beautiful and close to town. This cabin felt both intimate and spacious creating the perfect gathering spot for our family vacation. Summer in the Smokies means the real ones are out, and while they’re incredible to see, they are still wild animals — not photo props, pets, or backup singers for your mountain vacation.

A few friendly bear-country reminders:

🍕 Keep food and scented items out of vehicles
🗑️ Secure all trash
🚪 Watch from indoors or a safe distance
🚫 Never feed or approach bears

Beautiful? Yes.

Everything happening this July 4th in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge — save this for your trip 🇺🇸🎆

Red, white, and Smoky Mountain blue — this is one of the best weeks of the year to be up here. Here's your game plan:

🎤 Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival (July 3 & 4) — Free live country music at Patriot Park, Craig Morgan on the 3rd and Carly Pearce on the 4th, food vendors, kids' activities, and fireworks around 9:45 PM. (It's America's 250th, so expect this one to be big.)

🎉 Gatlinburg Midnight Parade (July 4, 12:01 AM) — The "1st in the Nation" Fourth of July parade rolls down the Parkway with floats, bands, and fireworks. Kick off your holiday before most of the country wakes up.

🦆 Gatlinburg River Raft Regatta (July 4) — Race a rubber duck (or your own floatable) down the Little Pigeon River. Register at 11 AM, race at 1 PM.

🎇 Dollywood Summer Celebration — Nightly drone + fireworks shows all weekend long.

The best part? You're in the heart of it all at Heiden on Echo, with a hot tub and a wraparound deck waiting when the fireworks fade.
