This week alone, I turned away two landlords.
Not because I couldn’t fill their properties.
Not because they weren’t good landlords.
But because their properties simply weren’t suitable for Serviced Accommodation.
Could I have taken them on and collected management fees? Absolutely.
Instead, I told them the truth: they would be better off securing a quality long-term tenant.
Too many management companies are focused on signing contracts. We’re focused on getting the right outcome for the landlord.
SA isn’t a magic solution for every property. Location, layout, demand, regulations, and operating costs all matter. Sometimes the numbers work brilliantly. Sometimes they don’t.
I’d rather lose a management agreement today than have a landlord disappointed six months from now.
Integrity isn’t tested when a deal is easy to do. It’s tested when walking away is the right thing to do.
The question is: how many management companies do you know that would turn down business because it’s not in the landlord’s best interests?
