Medicare enrollment can be confusing, and knowing the important dates can help. Here’s a helpful overview of the different Medicare enrollment periods and when you may be able to make changes to your coverage.

Medicare Annual Open Enrollment begins October 15. Now is a good time to review your current coverage and consider your options for 2027.

The Fall Open Enrollment Period (October 15 to December 7) is less than a month away, and the best way to avoid feeling rushed is to start preparing now.

Before OEP begins:
✔️ Review your current Medicare coverage
✔️ Make a list of your prescriptions and preferred pharmacies
✔️ Watch for your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) in September
✔️ Schedule a pre-OEP appointment with your local SHIP if you'd like personalized assistance

Many beneficiaries don't realize that plan costs, drug coverage, and benefits can change from year to year. Taking a few minutes to prepare now can make it much easier to compare plans when Medicare Plan Finder updates for the new plan year.

A day to recognize the individuals and families living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, the caregivers who support them, and the importance of greater awareness and understanding.

It’s also a reminder that conversations about wishes, care, and the future are often easier when they happen early.
