We’re proud to share that Attacq CEO Jackie van Niekerk has taken over as Chairperson of the SA REIT Association at a defining moment for South Africa’s listed property sector.

As the sector moves from recovery to renewed growth, Jackie will help lead a delivery-focused agenda to strengthen the investment case for South African REITs, deepen engagement with local and global capital, and achieve clear, measurable outcomes.

She succeeds Growthpoint Properties CEO Estienne de Klerk, following a carefully planned handover.

A new hospitality anchor for Waterfall City
What does it take to introduce a new destination for business, hospitality and connection within one of South Africa’s fastest-growing mixed-use cities?

In the July issue of Asset Magazine, Attacq CEO Jackie van Niekerk joins Gary Koetser, CEO of African Rain Collection, to discuss the vision behind the R750 million Waterfall City Conference Centre and Hotel, being developed by Attacq and Rabie Property Group.

Scheduled to open in 2028, the development will bring together a world-class conference centre, a 180-room hotel and long-stay apartments, adding another powerful layer to Waterfall City’s integrated offering and supporting its next phase of growth.

Waterfall City showed up and packed with purpose
What a finish to today's Rise Against Hunger meal-packing activation at Mall of Africa, ahead of Mandela Day tomorrow.

The third session at Waterfall City Park packed an incredible 90,124 meals, the highest total on the day, with the fourth adding another 30,912. A special shoutout to our third-session participants for setting the pace with their incredible energy and effort! Together, Waterfall City packed nearly 280,000 meals in one day ❤️

This was never simply a corporate target. We activated the city and invited our tenants, teams, partners and volunteers to make it a collective effort, turning 67 minutes of shared purpose into meaningful action for children across South Africa.

Every meal packed supports Rise Against Hunger Africa’s goal of delivering three million meals during July.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, worked together and helped us pack more than meals. As we head into tomorrow, we wish you a very happy Mandela Day!

The impact is building at Waterfall City
Two sessions down, and the momentum at Mall of Africa is growing.

The first team packed an incredible 70,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger, before the second session raised the bar with 88,000 meals for children in need.

Now the challenge moves to session three: can they top 88,000?

Every meal reflects 67 minutes of teamwork, energy and shared purpose from the tenants, teams and volunteers who have shown up for something bigger this Mandela Day.
