๐Ÿ‘• *MORE SUPPORT FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES AND JOBS*

*40 Cape Town clothing and textile businesses* have completed the Cape Acceler8 programme, helping them grow, win new orders and support local jobs.

๐Ÿ“ *70% of these businesses are based on the Cape Flats*, together employing more than *600 people*. They have already secured *R1,35 million in new and repeat orders*.

The programme gives local manufacturers practical skills and support to become more competitive and create more opportunities.

๐ŸŒŠ *Cape Townโ€™s coastal water quality remains generally stable*

The latest monitoring at the *Camps Bay, Green Point and Hout Bay marine outfalls* shows that *98,6% of 513 seawater samples* taken between April and June 2026 met water quality guidelines.

Most of the few exceedances were recorded close to the outfall points, with only one outside the designated mixing zone.

๐Ÿ”ฌ The City is continuing regular and independent testing, while also refurbishing the three marine outfall systems and assessing *longer-term treatment upgrades* to better protect our marine environment.

The monitoring programme has also been expanded to more coastal wastewater facilities.

*Our coastline is one of Cape Townโ€™s greatest assets, and protecting it requires proper monitoring, transparent reporting and long-term investment.* ๐Ÿ’™
