It’s that time of year again. SANParks is opening the gates for FREE! 🌿
From 7–13 September 2026, South African day visitors get free entry to participating national parks across the country. Time to pack a picnic, round up the family, and head outdoors!
Here’s what you need to know before you go:
* 🪪 Bring your SA ID: Free entry applies to South African day visitors. Kids under 18 don't need to show an ID.
* 📆 Weekdays vs. Weekends: Most Cape parks (like Table Mountain, Agulhas, Bontebok, and Tankwa Karoo) are free all week (7–13 Sep). However, West Coast National Park (along with Kruger and Augrabies) is Monday–Friday only (7–11 Sep).
* 🚫 Exclusions: Boulders Penguin Colony, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, and Namaqua National Park are not included in the free entry offer.
* 💰 Extras: Accommodation, game drives, guided activities, and paid experiences still cost the standard rates. Parks may also enforce daily visitor limits.
