The light was doing that thing it only does in Camps Bay — soft, golden, slightly smug. The ocean looked airbrushed. Table Mountain sat there like a screensaver. Even the palm trees were posing.

I felt unreal in the best way. Hair perfect. Outfit effortless. Sunglasses angled like I had a personal brand and a content calendar. The kind of calm that makes you think, for a moment, you’ve cracked life.

I drifted onto the promenade — the Camps Bay runway — and everything stayed cinematic for about three steps.

Then the Cape wind arrived.

Not as weather. As a personality. As a Creative Director with a deep hatred of effort.

One gust and my hairstyle stopped being a style and became a concept. Fringe lifted, hovered, and filed for independence. My “beach waves” rebranded to “electrocuted intern, Q4 deliverables due”. Sunglasses slid sideways like they were trying to escape the scene.

And the wind wasn’t just blowing — it was performing. The Windfluencer. It escalated the moment anyone lifted a phone. A couple nearby attempted a slow-motion hair flip. The wind responded with a full-body remix. A hat entered orbit. A napkin launched itself into a second career. Somewhere behind me a menu slapped a man in the chest like a debt collector.

Locals walked through it all like it was background music. Calm. Moisturised. Jackets tucked under their arms like it’s religion. No panic, no drama — just the quiet confidence of people who’ve signed a non-aggression pact with the atmosphere.

I tried to play it cool, because you don’t panic on a runway. You walk like nothing is happening while your face runs a live incident response. I stopped fighting the hair. Stopped negotiating with the dress. Stopped pretending I was the main character.

I walked like it was intentional. Like “storm-tossed resilience” was the brand.

Five seconds later the wind eased off — not kindness, just… governance.

I checked my reflection in a café window. Different person. Less “Camps Bay chic”, more “knows which Woolies has the best rotisserie chicken”. I’d been restructured. Repositioned. Brought into compliance.

Then I opened my eyes, lay there for a second, and could still hear the wind.

So I did the only logical Cape Town thing: I booked a kitesurfing lesson.

If you can’t beat the Windfluencer… monetise the collab.

The Fine Art of Being Just Drunk Enough on a Cape Town Wine Tour 🍷

There’s an unspoken rule when visiting Cape Town and doing the wine farms:
you’re not there to get drunk… but you’re definitely not there to stay sober either.

What you’re aiming for is a very precise operating model. A narrow band of excellence.
Alert enough to walk in a straight line. Relaxed enough to believe you can taste “stone fruit” and “leather” with real authority.

The day always starts with ambition.
You’ve had breakfast. You’ve applied sunscreen. You say sensible things like “I’ll pace myself” and “I’ll just sip.”
You might even glance at the spittoon and think, “Yes, very responsible.”

You will not use it.

By the second winery, the group dynamic has fully kicked in. Accents from three continents. Someone explaining wine confidently despite openly admitting five minutes earlier that they “normally drink beer.” Everyone nodding like this is a TED Talk.

You swirl. You sniff. You nod.
“Oh wow, that’s interesting.”
Interesting how? Nobody knows. But we all agree it’s interesting.

This is where discipline matters.
Too drunk, and suddenly you’re buying a case of wine you can’t pronounce, from a farm you won’t remember, while declaring that Cape Town has “changed you.”
Too sober, and frankly — this could’ve been an email.

The experienced operators know the playbook:
• One tasting does not mean one full glass.
• Water is not optional; it’s risk control.
• Lunch is mandatory. Long, scenic, and heavy on carbs.
• If there’s a view, you sit down immediately. Standing leads to decisions.

By mid-afternoon, you hit the sweet spot.
Everyone’s laughing a little louder than necessary. Group photos become more ambitious. Someone suggests “just one more stop.” Life feels generous. You briefly consider buying a straw hat.

Crucially, you are still functional.
You can hold a conversation. You can walk unassisted. You are charming in a globally appealing way.

This is elite-level wine touring.

As the sun dips and the final tasting wraps up, you leave with:
• A gentle buzz
• A few bottles you definitely needed
• A camera roll full of smiles and vineyards
• And the deep satisfaction of having absolutely nailed the brief

You didn’t overdo it.
You didn’t underdo it.
You respected the craft.

And when the day is done — when the wines are finished and the laughter has peaked — there’s only one thing left to solve:

If you need a place to stay, somewhere comfortable to land, recharge, and relive the day without worrying about driving or early starts… we’re ready to welcome you.

Because the only thing better than a perfect day in the Cape Winelands
is ending it somewhere that feels just right. 🍷😌

Cape Town sea swim, they said. It’ll be refreshing, they said… 🥶🌊

Let’s be honest: the Atlantic here doesn’t cool you down — it resets your soul.

Quick facts (because science):
• 🌡️ Average sea temperature in Cape Town: 10–14°C
• 🧊 Thanks to the Benguela Current, this is basically Antarctica’s moodier cousin
• 🏊‍♂️ Side effects include gasping, questioning life choices, and sudden Olympic-level sprinting back to shore

Yes, locals will casually say: “Ah, it’s not too bad today.”
These people cannot be trusted.

Good news though 👇
If you love Cape Town but prefer your water without hypothermia, this holiday apartment comes with a proper swimming pool at a normal, human-approved temperature 😌☀️

So you can:
✔️ Enjoy the beaches
✔️ Laugh at the brave souls in the sea
✔️ Swim comfortably
✔️ Keep all internal organs functioning

Cold ocean for the photos.
Warm pool for the actual holiday.
Best of both worlds. 🏖️🍹
