There’s just something about this time of year. The flowers are starting to pop up, the fields are changing colour, and Darling is looking more beautiful by the day.

A Weekend of Community at Darling Green Country Estate🏡

What a wonderful AGM weekend we had at Darling Green Country Estate! 🎉

The weekend kicked off on Friday, 28 August at Darling Cellars, where our HOA AGM got underway at 14:00. With beautiful cheese and meat boards and some local wine to start the afternoon, it was the perfect setting to bring our homeowners together.🍷🧀

After the AGM, the afternoon continued with plenty of catching up and socialising before everyone headed over to Darling Sport Club for a good old-fashioned Steak Braai.🥩🔥

Saturday brought our annual Darling Green Country Estate Bowls Event at Darling Bowls Club. The competition was fierce, the spirits were high and, once again, our defending champion took back her throne! 🏆🎱

Most importantly, the weekend was about bringing our residents and staff together, spending time as a community and enjoying everything that makes Darling Green Country Estate feel like home.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the weekend so special. We can’t wait for the next one! 🥂

There is something special about watching Apolis Vlei change with the seasons. As the surrounding fields change colour and the winter rains bring new life to the landscape, the Vlei is beginning to show off some of the natural beauty that makes Darling such a special part of the West Coast.

🌿Have you spotted a Varkoor around Darling?

If you’ve spent time in or around Darling, chances are you’ve seen the beautiful Wit Varkoor, also known as the Arum Lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica). With its striking white trumpet-shaped flower, it’s a familiar sight in the damp lowlands, fields and marshy areas around the West Coast. 🤍

With the Darling Wildflower Show getting closer, we thought it would be fun to start getting to know some of the flowers you’ll be seeing around Darling this spring. 🌼

So next time you’re out exploring, keep an eye out for the Varkoor!
