Non-Resident
A non-resident has not been granted permission to live or work in SA but can be granted a visitor's visa o visit SA on holiday. The maximum LTV such a person will qualify for is 50%. This is a SA Reserve Bank Policy.
The deposit has to come from the applicant's overseas bank account and in order to secure Foreign Exchange Approval for the property transaction, the Reserve Bank will require proof that 50% of the purchase price has been introduced from aboard from the applicant's bank account.
All applicants' passports must be valid and must not have expired.
It is mandatory for the Non- resident to open a SA bank account to order for the bond instalment to be paid via debit order.
