Community Notice – Level 3 Water Restrictions

Bitou Municipality is asking all residents and visitors to use water sparingly.

Recent low rainfall and hot weather have reduced flows in the Keurbooms River, placing our supply under pressure. Water consumption rose by 15% during the festive period compared to last year, which is not sustainable.

Level 3 Water Restrictions are still in effect and everyone must cooperate because the matter has become very urgent now.

We encourage everyone to play their part by saving water wherever possible. Small daily action, like shorter showers, reusing greywater, and fixing leaks, help protect our shared resources.

Together, we can ensure Bitou remains resilient through this dry season.
