GET PAST THE PAST
A lot has been spoken about the ‘new normal’ over the last few months and I’m sure we will all agree that there is a lot that is new and we’re a little less sure about what is still normal. In times of uncertainty and change, our natural tendency is to wish things back to ‘normal’ being a place of safety and familiarity. It’s like choosing the ‘factory settings’ when you buy a new phone or computer - it works but nowhere near its full potential. Don’t get me wrong, when it comes to fears about our health and the health of our families, I would like life to be normal again. But when it comes to business, I feel strongly that we should not want a ‘new normal’ but rather we should be embracing a NEW REALITY! It’s no coincidence that the first four letters of the word reality are because that’s what we are about – being partners to our colleagues, our brand, our clients, our families, our communities and our country. The best way to get past the past is to embrace something new and what an opportunity this is for all of us. At a time of some fear and lots of uncertainty, we have an opportunity to create a new ! There’s no turning back!
