It is important (especially for your rental deposit) that everything is documented before moving in. Your rental agent will assist in the inspection. Alternatively, as tenant you should insist on the landlord conducting one for which you are present. This will be your recourse if some disagreements were to arise about the condition of the property. Taking photos and videos on move-in day will also be a good place to start.
