Leadership is key. Imagine if Mane wasn't there last night and the team walked away as they did! Morocco would have been awarded victory and Senegal would have been fined and suspended. And today, we will not even be talking about Senegal winning the tournament.
We have been told correctly that leadership is everything. Nations and people rise or fall with the type or kind of leadership they have. It takes courage, forbearance, and empathy to be a leader. A leader does not always emerge from the best of circumstances and it is not without risk. If Brahim Dias had scored the penalty kick, thousands of not millions of Senegalese would have blamed Mane for insisting that the team return to the field of play. Mane took the risks and it paid off big time.
Folks, don't elect or reelect people who have no clue what leadership is about beyond their personal comfort, security, and welfare.
