When I first arrived in Abu Dhabi back in 2017, I had never been exposed to Middle Eastern culture. Everything was new—especially the traditions and celebrations that are deeply rooted in this region.

In 2018, I experienced my very first Ramadan. It was my first time to witness the spirit of the holy month, to celebrate Eid, and later, Eid Al Adha. At the time, I didn’t fully understand what these moments truly meant—but I felt the sense of unity, generosity, and reflection that surrounded me.

It wasn’t until the following year that I truly began to grasp the deeper meaning behind it all. Ramadan is more than just fasting—it's a time for spiritual renewal, gratitude, and compassion. Eid Al Fitr marks the end of that journey with joy, family gatherings, and a celebration of perseverance and faith. Eid Al Adha, on the other hand, is a powerful reminder of sacrifice, devotion, and giving to those in need.

These celebrations have taught me so much about community, resilience, and kindness—values that stay with me throughout the year.
