âž¡Earlier this month, Dubai Land Department signed an agreement with Emirates NBD to pave the way for rent payments to be made by direct debit. It is agreed to automate and digitize rental cheque payments through the UAE Central Bank's Direct Debit System (UAEDDS).

As this new system is not mandatory it might take a while till the markets adopts it.
