Fauji Foundation – the country’s one of the largest business conglomerate – has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Binance, the leading global blockchain and cryptocurrency exchange by trading volumes and users, for commercial collaboration in blockchain, cryptocurrency and payments in Pakistan.

The announcement was made by Paki­stan Crypto Council (PCC) in a statement on Monday disclosing that the LoI was signed on Dec 12 at the Fauji Foundation Headquarters, Rawalpindi. The statement said the two sides will explore potential commercial collaboration on blockchain, cryptocurrency, payments and Web 3.0 ecosystem within Pakistan.

“As part of the LoI, Binance will deploy its expertise, advisory support and technological and market insights on the crypto industry, and Fauji Foundation will partner with Binance on payment infrastructure solutions utilising digital assets”, the statement said.

Binance Awarded In-Principle Approval as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Binance has received in-principle approval from the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) to establish itself as a crypto-asset service provider in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The in-principle approval comes after Binance applied for a license from the CBB as part of its plans to become a fully-regulated centralised cryptocurrency exchange.

The move from CBB makes it the first regulator in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region to grant an in-principle approval to a Binance entity. The in-principle approval from CBB still requires Binance to complete the full application

اسٹیٹ بینک آف پاکستان (ایس بی پی) نے کہا ہے کہ وفاقی تحقیقاتی ایجنسی (ایف آئی اے) کرپٹو کرنسیوں میں غیر قانونی لین دین کی تحقیقات کے لیے مناسب اتھارٹی ہے۔ ProPakistani کی طرف سے اٹھائے گئے سوالات کا جواب دیتے ہوئے، SBP کے ترجمان نے کہا کہ اگر کرپٹو کرنسیوں میں کسی بھی غیر قانونی لین دین کا پتہ چلا تو، FIA تحقیقات کرنے کا مناسب اختیار ہے۔ انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ یہ مرکزی بینک کا اختیار نہیں ہے کہ وہ کسی فرد کی جانچ پڑتال کرے کہ آیا وہ مذکورہ غیر قانونی سرگرمی میں ملوث ہے۔ نیز، پڑھیں پاکستانی 20 بلین ڈالر کے کرپٹو اثاثوں کے مالک ہیں۔ کرپٹو لین دین کے لیے 1,000 سے زائد بینک اکاؤنٹس کی ایف آئی اے کی جانب سے حالیہ ضبطی کا حوالہ دیتے ہوئے، ترجمان نے کہا کہ مرکزی بینک نے کرپٹو کرنسی میں غیر قانونی لین دین کے حوالے سے بینکنگ سیکٹر کو واضح ہدایت جاری کی تھی۔ ایک سوال کے جواب میں، ترجمان نے بتایا کہ SBP ملک میں اپنی مستقبل کی مالیاتی حکمت عملیوں کے حصے کے طور پر کرپٹو کرنسیوں پر اندرونی مطالعہ کر رہا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا، "پاکستان میں کریپٹو کرنسیوں کا کیس فی الحال زیر سماعت ہے،" یعنی اس موضوع پر عوامی بحث نہیں ہونی چاہیے۔
