RERA stands for the Real Estate Regulatory Agency. It is a part of the Dubai Land Department (DLD), which regulates the relationship between a landlord and a tenant.

According to the RERA calculator, a landlord cannot increase the rent by more than 20 percent in any given year.

However, if the landlord and tenant agree on a higher increase during private negotiations, rent increases can exceed 20 percent.
