Dubai's most awaited Metro Blue Line is set to launch on September 9, 2029, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This 30-kilometer line will feature 14 stations and 28 trains, transporting an estimated 200,000 passengers daily by 2030, increasing to 320,000 by 2040.
The Blue Line will significantly improve connectivity between Dubai International Airport and key areas like Mirdif, Al Warqa, and Silicon Oasis. With travel times ranging from 10 to 25 minutes, it will significantly reduce traffic congestion on these routes by 20%.
This project aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan's vision of a "20-minute city," where residents can access essential services within a 20-minute commute. The Blue Line is a crucial step towards achieving this goal by enhancing public transportation options and improving overall urban mobility in Dubai.
