Happy International Women’s Day for all women around the world, for those who gave sacrifices for this day, who struggled for women rights and those who generated the idea of International Women’s Day, and specially for all superheroes who are raising their voice for Afghan women's rights these days.
Let me provide a little information about international women’s day history, that how and where it began?
Actually, it began in New York City on March 8, 1857, when a group of females who were working in a textile fabric, marched in a protest of unfair working conditions and unequal rights for women in that Textiles Fabric. They were asking for a shorter working hour and a better pay, after that, 50 years letter On March 8, 1908, 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter working hours, better pay, and voting rights. One year later National Women Day celebrated by the corporation of a socialist party in the U.S, then in 1910, an International Conference held in Copenhagen, that over 100 women were participating from 17 different countries, and in this conference a woman named Clara Zatkin who was the leader of a democratic party in Germany, she tabled the idea of International Women’s Day, She proposed that every year in every country there should be a celebration on the same day - a Women's Day - to press for their demands. and she got the approval of the all-conference participants.
Following the Copenhagen conference, in 1911 International Women's Day was honored the first time in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland on 19 March, one week later a tragic fire event happened in New York that it took lives of 140 women who were working in a fabric, this event drew a significant attention to working conditions and labor legislation in the United States.
Clara Zatkin did not mention any certain date for this day, but after many discussions, March 8 selected as a certain date of international women’s day on 1914, and at the first time International women Day celebrated on 8 March in Germany in 1914.
In 1975, International Women’s Day marked and recognized by United Nations, and from that day on its celebrated yearly all over the world.
