The 5-star ski area Schladming (according to test report 2019 by Skiresort.de) with its skischaukel Planai - Hochwurzen - Hauser Kaibling - Reiteralm makes the heart of every winter athlete beat faster.
Of course, the focus in Schladming is on alpine skiing and snowboarding: 123 kilometers of slopes, guaranteed snow from late November to mid-April, plus the FIS World Cup major slalom event "THE Nightrace" on the last Tuesday of each January, great huts and lots of après-ski . Skiers of all ages and skills will find their winter experience here. The men's World Championship downhill 2013, 3,280 meters long and with a deep black finish slope, is a treat for every ambitious ski athlete. Beginners or families with small children, on the other hand, enjoy the easy, sunny and gentle slopes at the summit of the Planai, such as "Weitmoos" or "Märchenwiese" (= fairytale meadow). Fantastic mountain panorama is always included.
