A Night Before Move-In😔
The landlord’s off overseas somewhere bright,
While I’m here facing a long, late night.
A tenant is moving from far-away miles,
And I want them welcomed with clean, calm smiles.
But at 10pm, the bins still stand,
Overflowing like they’ve made their own plan.
Bin day’s tomorrow, the clock doesn’t wait —
So here I am, fixing fate.
The house wasn’t dusty, no webs to see,
But that carpet smell nearly humbled me.
A heavy scent clinging to every room,
Turning “welcome home” to “please grab a broom.”
Yet the landlord calls from another time zone,
Questioning things in a frustrated tone:
“Why tenant took so long? Why rent not high?”
Sir… with that carpet, even excuses run dry.
Still, I show up, because that’s our way —
We solve the things that ruin a day.
In the quiet night, with a tired grin,
I roll the bins out and breathe back in.
He relaxes abroad while I do the part
That makes a house ready for a brand-new start.
And that’s property management, calm and true —
We hold the chaos… so others don’t have to.
