Delivering 36 MW of Hybrid Gas and Battery Power for Queensland’s Surat Basin.

Clarke Energy has delivered 36 MW of high-efficiency gas-fired power generation for Senex Energy’s Atlas and Mimas natural gas expansion projects – three critical power stations in Queensland’s Surat Basin.

As EPC contractor, Clarke Energy engineered and supplied eleven INNIO Group Jenbacher JGS620 J101 gas engines, integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This hybrid configuration delivers dependable baseload power, operational flexibility, and rapid response to changes in demand, supporting energy security for regional industries and communities.

By combining gas generation with BESS technology, the stations achieve efficient resource use, improved system resilience, and a lower emissions profile, contributing to Senex Energy’s, Queensland’s, and Australia’s broader objectives for a secure, affordable, and lower-carbon energy supply.

In a significant stride towards sustainable business practices, Clarke Energy Australasia, a subsidiary of the global powerhouse KOHLER Energy, recently inaugurated our new headquarters in Adelaide, South Australia. The state-of-the-art facility is evidence of the company's leading position in delivering power solutions throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea.

The new headquarters represent Clarke Energy's commitment to sustainability. The building design seamlessly combines visual appeal with practicality, providing a comfortable space for the diverse Clarke Energy Australia team of 120 employees, and fostering a conducive environment for collaboration and innovation.

Clarke Energy's continued growth in the sales of Kohler Co. product in the South Pacific region is due, in part, to the teams ongoing support of our channel partners. Clarke Energy’s specialised training programs cater for technicians from beginners through to experienced service technicians. Our programs provide technical expertise and knowledge sharing, improve operating efficiency and ensure greater safety for operators.

We recently worked with our Kohler Marine channel partner, Fenquin Marine to deliver customised training for their team of service technicians.

Peter Clancy, Fenquin Marine’s Industrial & Commercial Marine Representative says “Being able to mix the theory, with real-life practical simulations, and presentation of content to us in a relatable format provided for a great training day. The custom simulators used throughout the course enabled all participants to get the most out of the course. Clarke Energy’s training & the materials used were presented in an easy to understand way, and now provides for a great resource to have on hand. We’re now more confident with the knowledge we gained in providing support to our customers.”

Clarke Energy’s specialised training programs cater for the full range of technicians: from beginners right through to experienced service technicians.

Clarke Energy’s comprehensive training programs are delivered by experienced experts combining theoretical and practical learning in high quality training environments. Recently in Australia our Queensland KOHLER Marine Channel Partner, Seamech, arranged KOHLER Marine Training for dealers at two locations: Airlie Beach for the North Queensland region and Brisbane for the South-East Queensland KOHLER Power - Generators dealers.

Rather than just delivering theory, the training has custom made practical training box’s for the students, which means that they can get ‘hands on’ and test various functionalities of the devices in real time.

Clarke Energy’s South Pacific KOHLER Technical Support Manager, Ty Martin commented: “The training also includes the opportunity for participants to access menus and navigate their way around the controllers to increase familiarity with the functionality and allow technicians to become more comfortable with them.”

Clarke Energy is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of 60MW of gas-fired generation to support Alinta Energy’s Pilbara operations, including the Chichester Solar Gas Hybrid project comprising of 60MW of solar photovoltaic generation and 60kms of transmission line.
