We did it, Airlie Beach! 👏

Airlie Beach has officially been crowned Australia’s Top Small Tourism Town at the 2026 Australian Top Tourism Town Awards.

It’s a fantastic national honour for Airlie Beach and a huge celebration of the people and businesses who make the Whitsundays one of Australia’s most loved destinations.

This award belongs to our tourism operators and accommodation providers, hospitality staff, retailers, event organisers, volunteers and the many people working behind the scenes.💙

After six years of nominations, it’s especially exciting to finally bring the national title home to the Whitsundays.

Mayor Ry Collins was there to help celebrate the win and accept the award alongside representatives from Tourism Whitsundays.

For a region where tourism is such an important part of our economy, our community and our way of life, this is something we can all be incredibly proud of.

We recently had the pleasure of attending an event at The Creek Whitsundays — a beautiful country-style gathering and such a wonderful celebration of our local community.

Events like this are a lovely reminder that living in the Whitsundays is about so much more than the incredible scenery and lifestyle. It’s the people, the connections and the community that make this place truly feel like home.

From the coast to the countryside, there’s a little something for everyone here.
