At Kari Maitz Property, we know a home belongs to every member of the family—including the four-legged ones!

Meet River, Colin and Inez’s cheeky 10-year-old rescue greyhound. River loves humans, massages, stuffed toys, walks, soaking at the river or beach and, most importantly, treats!

When the family lived in chilly Tasmania, River needed a little treat-based encouragement to venture outside. Now in Armidale, he has cleverly turned this arrangement to his advantage—a quick trip outdoors, followed by a patient wait in the kitchen for his reward. Sometimes he repeats the process several times! He’s certainly no fool. 😂

After zooming around his big backyard at Harrison’s Place, River enjoys another treat—of course—followed by a well-earned sleep.

Rural pets must be safely controlled around livestock, wildlife, neighbouring properties and roads. Check fencing before the tenancy begins, follow local council and animal-control requirements, and never assume that affection at home removes a dog's instinct to chase.

Use secure fencing, leads and supervised exercise. If a property cannot safely and humanely suit the animal, that needs to be addressed honestly before the pet moves in.

Love them completely. Manage them responsibly.

Routine inspections are not about judging how somebody lives. They are an early-warning system for the home and the investment.

A small leak, loose fitting, damaged flyscreen or developing maintenance issue is usually easier and less expensive to address when it is reported early.

In NSW, a landlord or agent must generally give at least seven days' written notice for a routine inspection, and inspections can occur no more than four times in a 12-month period.

Good inspections are respectful, properly documented and focused on maintenance, safety and the property's condition.
