At the final inspection, we're assessing the completed home, but many of the critical structural and weatherproofing components have already been concealed behind plasterboard, waterproofing, cabinetry and finishes.
That's why early-stage inspections matter.
Issues identified before they're covered are generally easier to investigate, easier to understand and often simpler to rectify than those discovered after handover.
Today's inspection highlights standing water within a gutter, but it also serves as a reminder that some of the most significant construction issues occur long before the home reaches completion.
Every stage tells part of the story.
