Progress is continuing at Port Hinchinbrook, with work now moving into the next stage.

The focus at the moment is locking in the dredging contractor, with market sounding now underway to find the right team to carry out the works.

This process closes on 17 July and is an important step in getting the project moving on the water.

ICM are the team managing this project and have previously delivered the major dredging work at Bribie Island, a significant exercise which effectively reinstated the island.

Today, 27 March 2025, the Valuer-General issued new land valuations to 14 local government areas (LGAs) in Queensland.

This equates to more than 790,000 valuations state wide.

The following LGA’s were revalued:

Brisbane City Council
Cairns Regional Council
Cassowary Coast Regional Council
Charters Towers Regional Council
Logan City Council
Murweh Shire Council
Paroo Shire Council
Quilpie Shire Council
Rockhampton Regional Council
Scenic Rim Regional Council
South Burnett Regional Council
Southern Downs Regional Council
Toowoomba Regional Council
Townsville City Council

The date of valuation is 1 October 2024 and the valuations will take effect from 30 June 2025.

These land valuations reflect property market changes since each of the LGAs were last valued.

You have 60 days to object to your valuation if you think it is incorrect on a variety of grounds. Please contact me if you need any assistance.
