Ballarat is filled with places worth giving up an afternoon for, and these are three we send people to constantly, whether they have just moved here or have lived here twenty years and somehow never got around to them.
ballarat has turned a set of old railway buildings into something genuinely worth the trip, and the fact it happened at all says plenty about how this town treats its history. is the sort of place where you go in for one thing and come out with four. And the lake is best early, while the mist is still sitting on the water and before the rowers are finished, which is a very different experience to the middle of a Sunday.
