Two more recent pieces. "Yippee" the trout has a new plinth of Huon Pine.
The "Mood" lamp, bearing a resemblance to a fish trap, made from fruit tree prunings and raffia on a base made from apricot timber. It has a 6w LED globe for a nice warmer glow.
Both will be in our joint exhibition at Art Gallery on Ovens starting the 19th of November.

Last progress report. It's done and dusted.
Pretty happy with it. I only managed to get 850 or so bits of grass on, which, in hindsight, was a blessing. The final job was to get my hands in there and evenly bend/spread them.

Progress report on my new Xanthorrhoea or Grass Tree.
Trunk is done, now prepping "grass" wire for brazing on. This includes melting the ends of each to minimize scratches etc, all 1,000 of them.
The trunk is 1.6m high and will get stalks and seed pods of another 1.4m.
Lots more work yet.

Latest work in progress.
This will be my 20th Grass Tree, and probably my last.
It's also destined to be my biggest with a planned 1,000 bits of "grass".
It will finish up around 9' high.
I even built a gantry (finally) to lift it onto my ute when it's done.
Lots left to do, so, finishing my cuppa, and back out to the shed.
