I’m pleased to share some insights into the housing market in 2025.
OUTCOME 2025
As 2025 draws to a close the City of Casey continues to experience strong demand for homes right across all price ranges and particularly at the lower entry levels in areas close to schools, shops, and transport.
There has been a lot of first home buyer activity on the back of the 3 interest rate cuts this year and the Federal Government’s 5% deposit scheme, with no mortgage insurance. Investors have also returned to the market which has created strong competition and pushed house prices higher.
The rental market remains strong with high demand for homes and low stock levels keeping vacancy rates at all time lows and investment returns very attractive.
THOUGHTS
We do expect market conditions to continue to favour sellers into the New Year however, if inflation remains high there is a possibility that the Reserve Bank could raise interest rates which would likely slow down buyer activity.
