Something big is coming to Beveridge, and it's the kind of thing that changes how a place feels to live in.

Right now Beveridge has no sporting fields, which is remarkable for a town on track to grow past 70,000 people. That's about to change. The Beveridge Central sports reserve will bring a main soccer pitch, two more pitches with a cricket oval overlay, four small-sided synthetic pitches and enclosed cricket nets, all on one site off Patterson Road.

It's more than sport, though. The plans include a two-storey community facility with a café, a district-level playground with BBQs and picnic areas, and walking paths connecting the whole reserve.

This is what growth looks like when it's done well. Somewhere for kids to play on the weekend, Saturday morning games, a spot to walk the dog and run into a neighbour. The everyday things that turn a suburb into a community.
