Wrapping around much of Lake Eildon’s shoreline, this park blends bushwalking and boating in one scenic package. One moment you’re hiking up a dry, grassy ridge with sweeping views of the lake’s deep blue arms; the next you’re back at the water’s edge watching pelicans cruise by.
The park is a haven for wildlife — kangaroos and echidnas graze the open flats, while wedge-tailed eagles patrol the thermals overhead. Keen hikers can tackle Blowhard Summit or the Perfect Cure Creek Track for panoramic lookouts, while those after something cruisier can wander the lakefront or throw in a fishing line for golden perch and Murray cod.
Come summer, the place hums with houseboats, kayaks, and swimmers. In autumn and spring, the bush trails are quieter, and in winter the mist over the water gives the whole scene a calm, moody beauty.
