The Canyon walk is one of the most beautiful and well known walks along the Ovens river in Bright… you do not want to miss out on this one.

TOP TIPS:
- There are two swing bridges meaning for a short easy walk turn back at the first but for more advanced walkers head on to the second.
- Dog friendly but keep them on lead as there are lots of cliffs, holes and drop-offs.
- Not suited to those who are not steady in their feet as there are lots of steps and walking over rocky areas.
- This particular video shows the river very high and fast but in summer months has lots of great spots for a dip to cool off.

Great activities in Bright and surrounds…

Mushroom hunting… NO not for a beef Wellington dinner…. but for great photos.. there is such a wide variety and they look incredible in macro… here are a few quick snaps I took just on my Phone.
So why not start exploring in the damp forest and see what you can find… it’s way more fun than you think.

If you love mountain biking but also travelling with your doggos then this is a great way to do both…
Spending time with your dogs like this is really special and so much fun.
Highly recommend the K9 Sport Sack… so far it’s been great for us.
Our boy is around 7.5kg so how much you can carry will depend on your fitness.

TOP TIPS:
- Get your pup used to being in the backpack on a few walks before trying on the bike.
- Keep to some open areas rather than single tracks so they don’t get caught on tree branches as your riding.
- Slow and steady… coming off the bike would really hurt them as they are strapped in and can’t move so take it easy.

GREAT WALKS AROUND BRIGHT
Today we headed to the hills on a beautiful bush walk right from the centre of town… Walk right up the main street left at the school and turn right to the hills. Walk up Huggins Lookout or… We walked across the hills and down to the Bright Football oval and along the river back to town. Sooo beautiful with all the autumn colours right now.

TOP TIPS: This area is a beautiful part of the bush but you do need to be careful if taking your dog… There are some very dangerous mine holes etc just off the track and there is often a mountain biker or two. As always keep an eye out for snakes. We recommend keeping them on lead to keep them safe. Depending on their fitness level or the temperature you could also consider one of these backpacks. We invested in the K9 Sport Sack… they have drink holders and a seperate storage bag… our little man got too hot so was pretty happy getting a free ride today!
