Recently there has been a high volume of new property development funders and brokers entering the market. Please use caution and do your research. Take into consideration:

1. What is their direct property experience?
2. What industry bodies is the company affiliated with?
3. What qualifications do the individuals hold?
4. What is their source of funds?
5. Do they have adequate funds available to fund your project when you need it?
6. Are they a developer themselves, hence a competitor?
7. Do they have experience in providing development funding and do they have a robust drawdown funding process in place?
8. Which consultants do they use?
9. Are you able to check their credentials by calling references?

Select a funder who has deep experience in property development, the right qualifications and affiliations, and can actually fund the project! Local funders are ideal as you can meet them face to face and on site quickly if any issues arise.

Looking at the recent Australian political landscape, it is easy to feel put off by the behavior of our politicians. Ego and personal agenda have definitely been undermining forces affecting the Government’s performance. If we are honest though, how does this compare to many of the characteristics prevalent in Australian corporate culture? Have behaviors like back stabbing, greed, arrogance and narcissism become ingrained in mainstream corporate Australia and how are we each contributing to this dynamic? It is all too easy to feel frustrated with others while ignoring our own backyard.
