4 hours. 7 sites. No shortcuts. 👀

This is what the day actually looks like.

Bouncing borough to borough, neighborhood to neighborhood, checking in with every crew, making sure nothing slips, because every client thinks their project is the only one
 😅

I don’t just “run” jobs, I show up to them. Shoutout to the team holding it down at every stop. Makes it a lot easier to move like this when everyone’s locked in.

And yeah
we made all 7 without a ticket 😎

Sometimes, artwork is more than just beautiful. It’s a daily reminder of where you come from and where you’re headed.

That’s what I felt when I first saw “Skip” by Zeehan Wazed. I saw the women in my family who came before me, and I could picture Inaara, skipping through the grassy fields at our Bucks County farmhouse.

Owning a piece of art like this is a real privilege. Appreciate it, . Check out his page for more of his work.

Everyone always shows you the before and after pictures of a renovation. But here’s what ‘during’ looks like.

I went on a quick site walkthrough, checking in on the team, and we’re making a lot of progress. Spoke to Enrique too, who has almost 10 years doing flooring repairs, installations, & refinishings for us. When you’ve got guys like that on site, you don’t have to second guess the work.

Glue, subfloor, underlayment, details matter more than people think. That’s the difference between something that looks good today vs. still holding up years later.
Appreciate the team keeping everything tight across the board. That’s what you can expect from us 👊

If Home Depot wants to become our sponsor, I wouldn’t be opposed 👀

One of our most recently completed projects was making upgrades to a medical office space. I stopped by to check in on my team and see their progress, and also to give the client an update that came directly from me.

And while doing my walkthrough, Manuel told me we needed more paint to finish the project that day. So, I made a spontaneous trip to Home Depot in Manhattan, which had an insane facade I’ve never seen on a Home Depot before.

Thanks to Manuel and my team, we were able to get the job done reliably, effectively, and on time. And thanks to me because I didn’t get any parking tickets & avoided extra overhead costs 😉

Referrals might get you in the room, but they don’t close the job. Although it would be nice if it was that simple!

When I think about what gets me picked for a project over another guy, I know it comes down to my systems and organization.

Most people probably don’t associate the word “contractor” with “project management software” and “organized”, but when it comes to myself and my team, it should go hand in hand.

Working with us means that you’ll not only get the dream you have come to fruition, it means you’ll be updated on our progress and kept in the loop every step of the way.

You’re going to have to turn your phone sideways for this one đŸ”„

These are some moments that didn’t make it to the final cut because, well, doors weren’t opening, work sites were too loud, and some stories can only be shared off camera đŸ€«

But, we’re building Manhattan out here! And also Brooklyn, and Philly. And a little bit of New Jersey.

Fresh deposit hits the account
and suddenly people forget math exists. 😅

Cash flow is where most contractors get tested. When you’re new, you guess. When you’re busy, you assume.

It’s worth it to make the time to check your numbers on all fronts, as it can win or cost you a bid.

Thanks to Jorge from Clear Concepts Construction for taking time to riff with me on how cash flow can make or break a project long before the drywall goes up.

And please, do not spend that first check on a Rolex 📣

This is something that, if I traveled back in time to tell my younger self, I would be freaking out over. đŸ•·ïž

Sometimes, my team and I don’t manage a project completely, meaning we aren’t the only chefs in the kitchen. Part of our responsibility is to make sure we collaborate cohesively with our other subcontractors, like Jorge at Clear Concept, to get the job done for our clients, effectively and precisely.

Not all of my projects come with a famous backstory, like being featured in a movie, but when I get a project like this, its a reminder that my hard work, reliability, and integrity with all of my clients has brought me here.

This is one that I'm definitely not going to forget anytime soon!

We both came in with a lot of confidence, and surprisingly, it paid off! 😂

From our very first project together, to 14 years later, still working as a team and making stunning NYC homes, this partnership proves that trust, hard work, and shared values are what truly make a house feel like home.

Thank you to Abby and her amazing team for all the opportunities you’ve given me and my team. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for us this year 👊

Watching Inaara take in the world through the lens of what I do for a living is something I never expected to mean this much to me.

When Inaara looks at buildings or start “building” things of their own, I can see how deeply this work has woven itself into our family life.

What I’m really proud of is knowing this didn’t start with me. I learned this business by watching my own father, and one day it became mine to carry forward. Now I’m thinking about what it would mean to someday hand that responsibility to my kids. Not just the work itself, but the values, judgment, and confidence that come with it.

Some calls move a project forward. Some test the strength of your marriage. And some
 keep the team honest.

In one afternoon, I

✅ Checked in with Peter who’s worked with me for years to get his unfiltered take on my leadership
✅ Prank-called my wife to see if she’s really down to move back to NYC
✅ Jumped into a logistics call with the Abby Palanca team to problem-solve mid-project

Because building homes isn't just about drywall and demo it's about trust, timing, and the relationships you carry through every season.

I don’t just build properties. I build partnerships with my crew, my family, and the people we serve.
