🎉 Happy 19th Birthday Blake! 🎉
…and what a journey it has been.
You’ve grown up knowing that life doesn’t just hand you things. You and I have lived in government housing whilst you were growing up, worked hard for everything we had, worked our way through life and jumped so many hurdles, we know hard times, we know struggles, we know loss, but we knew how to make each hard moment and lesson turn into a positive one.
Along the way, you’ve learnt one of the most important lessons — take every opportunity you can and make something of yourself, because each day we wake up, we are lucky to be here, the person you choose to become and the path you choose to take are decisions only you can make.
You’ve worked your way through life. You’ve never been given anything, and everything you have achieved has come from your own determination, your hard work and the person you have chosen to become.
Watching you work hard, kick goals and continue to push yourself makes us incredibly proud. But what makes us even prouder is the person behind those achievements — your genuine care for people, your kindness, your ability to make friends wherever you go and the way you continue to shine while always staying completely true to yourself.
You’re funny, a little crazy at times 😂, a friend to everyone and someone who brings your own light wherever you go.
Never lose that. Never lose your shine!
A little parenting advice… choose which drink you prefer rather than mixing your cans (pictured below) trust me, future you will thank you 😅
Your journey is only just beginning, and if the first 19 years are anything to go by, there are some pretty amazing things ahead of you.
Proud doesn’t even begin to describe it.
As your mum, everyday I am incredibly proud of you, and Andy is just as proud to watch the man you are becoming whilst highlighting his grey's even more 🤫
So go out there, keep working hard, keep kicking those goals, take every chance that comes your way and most importantly, always be you. Never look back, keeping moving forward
