Rosebay Mangos - Burrum River

Rosebay Mangos - Burrum River Call them what you will, however we have Bowen Trees with Bowen Mangoes grown on the Burrum River.

30/11/2025

Hello everyone! We wanted to give you an update on our mango season—and unfortunately, it’s not the news we were hoping to share. The season started off beautifully, with the trees flowering and fruiting really well. But October’s extreme heat during the dry spell caused significant fruit drop, even with consistent watering. Then November arrived with constant storms, hail and heavy rain, which knocked off even more fruit. We’re now down to very little left on the trees, and the few remaining mangoes are taking in so much water that they’re starting to split. 😫 If by some miracle we do end up with any available for sale, we’ll let you know here—but at this stage it’s highly unlikely. We’re so sorry to disappoint anyone who has been looking forward to our mangoes this year. 😔 Here’s hoping for a better season next year. 🌱🥭 It can definitely stop raining now for a couple of weeks. 🤞🏼

Considered what you would do with a bucket of mangoes? Apart from eating fresh or freezing mango, also consider possibly dehydrating, so you have a delicious, nutritious snack!

Here’s a link we found to assist with dehydrating mangoes! Come grab a bucket & give it a try! 🙌🏼🥭

The Guide to Dehydrating Mango shows how to dehydrate mangoes with recipes for dehydrated mango salsa, mango fruit cocktail, mango smoothies, and mango salads.

We’re not just about a couple of mango trees (approximately 80 all up). Mangoes are just aesthetically pleasing for us! We are set on a gorgeous 200 acre block right on the Burrum River with our main enterprise, Rosebay Bazadais Stud. The block was developed by Francis & Lesley Smith, who are now in their early to mid 70’s & still enjoying the farming lifestyle.

So head on out for a bucket of mangoes & enjoy the views on your drive. 🙌🏼😎🥰🥭🐮🐮🐮
