When you ask people to describe Lyn Perks they say "dedicated, competitive, committed". An enthusiastic sportswoman she's used to having to work hard to get a result and it's an attitude she carries through into her work. "I'm very into sport and fitness, whether it's training myself, or helping others improve their fitness. I particularly enjoy running and I also took part in, and ran, group fitn
ess classes in Bridgetown before I moved to Busselton. Now I still train at home and I take part in local events like the Jetty Swim and Geographe Bay Race Week whenever possible. "Whatever I do, I play like it's the grand final. I give my all and I apply this to property management. I do whatever it takes and I get a great deal of satisfaction out of getting a successful result for my clients." Lyn has worked in property management since 2003, and she oversees the property management division at ACTON South West
She believes that attention to detail, good communication and a high level of service are the keys to success. "In property management attention to detail is very important, you need to make sure all the accounts are up to date, that maintenance issues are dealt with promptly, that all paperwork is filled out accurately, and that you are selecting the best possible tenants. Your landlords are trusting you to look after their investment and you need to make sure everything is done thoroughly and quickly. "Communication is the key and helps things to run smoothly. As a property manager, you are the link between your landlords, your tenants and the rest of your property management team, and you need to keep everyone informed every step of the way to prevent problems arising. "Finally, good service is vital, otherwise your clients, both landlords and tenants, could leave and go elsewhere.
